DUNKELWEIZEN

“A lovely marriage of flavour between a German style dunkel and a Hefewiezen.”

These dark wheat brews derive their character from the use of darker malts in the non-wheat ingredients, so that a richer, darker coloured brews can be achieved, along with fuller malt flavours. Dunkelweizens still display the floral, chocolate-type character while preserving fruity qualities of pale drink. It appears copper-brown in colour and has a hop aroma with a particular mouth-coating sensation that gives off a tinge of citrus flavour owing to the addition of orange peel extracts. A few non wheat alternatives to dunkelweizen brewed at flambos are Amercian Amber drink and Irish Red drink.
